Welcome to our site

Welcome to Love Donegal.

This site aims to help you plan and enjoy your visit to Ireland's most beautiful county. It includes tips and photographs we have collected in nearly 30 years of visiting Donegal.

This site offers a very personal view of Donegal -- with no advice about fishing, golf or accommodation: those aspects you will find well covered elsewhere. Much of this site refers to North Donegal, because that is the area I know best.
I had intended to write a book but realised that a website would give me more flexibility and allow me to keep information as up to date as possible.  You can print whichever pages most interest you to make your own guidebook: and don't forget to add the relevant webpages!

Another reason for producing this site is to acknowledge the many people who have helped to make our visits over the years enjoyable. However, the site is anonymous and we have received no favours or payment from anyone listed in this site. The site is continually being developed: If you find the site helpful, you are invited to make a small contribution to help us develop it further -- 10% of the pretax income from the site will be donated to charity.

I hope you enjoy wandering around this site as much as you do wandering the rugged mountains. I welcome your comments and contributions to help the site grow, and we look forward to hearing from you.
Good luck!
